For those who’ve come on and never saw any updates, i’m sorry!
Work’s just been starting to pile up, and the emails are coming in thick and fast. Apparently my mobile internet stick has been approved, and I’m hoping to dodge the blackberry present for as long as I can…
For those who are interested, Vincent has just started school and you can see the stress level rising as the books start to pile up on his desk. He’s got quite a system worked out now – rising at 6am, b’fast at 6.30am, scoot out (literally) by 6.55am, train at 7.20am, subway at 7.50am, arrive at uni at 8.45am, bike to classroom and arriving by 9am. He’s getting pretty at at it.
On my part, I head out just after Vincent, catch my nice company bus at 7.30am, arriving in at 9am. It ain’t so bad actually, I get alot in before the day really starts.
Meanwhile, our current mission for the week is to find our ‘default’ places to have dinner, if we’re too tired to cook. So we’ve been scooting and chugging around the neighbourhood trying to find a decent meal.
Let’s face it, Tianjin ain’t a Shanghai. A normal european meal is usually in a five-star hotel, if not you’re talking about really weird and overpriced wanna-bes. You don’t want to disgusting ones with more food on the floor than on the table, and some are so damn dingy you wonder if its a meat storeroom instead. Being more budget-conscious than before also helps keep our choices limited, which is actually not a bad thing after a very decadent Singapore life. :p
Anyway, meanwhile the season’s starting to be a little topsy-turvy, which is great because you can feel the autumn breeze drifting from not too far away!
Meanwhile, stay tuned, more news on the way…!
