The mister and I wanted a more ‘European’ christmas, having been pretty much immersed in the deep throes of China (when you see Peking University, you’ll understand). And I guess one couldn’t get more of it than good ol’ Shanghai!
The word of the weekend – decadent. I don’t remember having eaten so much wonderful chunks of turkey and beef, nor drunk so much wonderful vinos. We had an awesome dinner with Deb & Chee where great conversations were washed down with even more happy calories! Topped up with a fantastic Agoda deal at one of the Small luxury Hotels of the World, i’d say we felt like millionaires this Christmas. Terribly indulgent, and oh so disgustingly good.

One of the highlights though, was our day trip to Hangzhou, where we biked for hours around the gorgeous West Lake under beautiful sunshine. At that moment, I think we both felt that we had nothing really in life to complain about.
Ahhh… if only life was this easy. Then again, these little bouts of happy days make all the difference because they don’t come everyday.
Anyway, two months of anticipation to this weekend was well worth it. Now if only I can get my head out of Christmas hohohos.

Love Hangzhou too. Dreaming of getting a place in the mountains and growing a little tea.
